More on Couple Counselling – How to get more out of your relationships

Couple Counselling

So what is this Couple Counselling all about?

Do you want to get more out of your relationships?

Do you sometimes feel like this?

Do you feel like you’re not been heard?

Did you know  our problems all start inside our heads?

When it comes to being in relationship with another, there’s someone else to consider.

There is a ‘YOU’, there is a ‘ME’ and that makes an ‘US’.

When things get bent out of shape, it becomes more like the ‘Me’ versus the ‘You’.

The  ‘US’ is no more.

Where do we go from here;  is Couple Counselling the answer?

One of the biggest break downs in any relationship is when communication between two people  is either misunderstood or withheld.

We’re either not clear in our communication with another or, worse still we’re not saying what we really want to say.

Perhaps it’s time to get some help?Couple Relationship Counselling

Couple Counselling, whether you attend with your partner or attend on your own for your first appointment,  is your first opportunity to talk to someone outside of your personal life who is objective and offers a new way of looking at your circumstances.

Counselling. or couple counselling,  gives you an opportunity to air grievances without feeling like there is a need to be careful in what you say.

It provides the space where you can learn new ways in which you can communicate effectively.

By simply having someone you are not emotionally connected to, to hear you out opens up new avenues of doing things differently.

When there is a breakdown in communication, it can lead to frustration and anger, especially when we want the other person to see our point of view, to understand us!

Then it spirals into nagging obsessive thoughts about ourselves and our relationships which can eventually become damaging.

We resort to ‘Me’ and ‘You’, not ‘US’.

When our partners or our friends do not quite ‘get us’, we feel frustrated, hurt and angry.

We become agitated and it becomes more about not feeling good about ourselves, than the actual problem itself.

Then the thoughts about ourselves, and our relationships become excessive.

We start to take those little things personally.

Then there is the constant over analysing!

These negative thoughts or themes hum along in the background, generating tension and destroying our ability to concentrate and feel good about ourselves.

This can prevent us from paying attention to the relevant and good things in life.

This hinders our ability to communicate effectively; we take things out of context.

This frame of mind prevents us from asking relevant questions which can bring about resolution or mutual understanding to our relationship conflicts.

So how do Couple Counselling sessions work?

When you entertain a fresh new approach in your relationship with  your partner, or within your family and friendship circle, things change!

So typically in a Couple Counselling session you will learn new ways of communicating.

I will share with you workable useful strategies.

Additionally you will learn helpful tools such  as NLP (Neuro Linguistic Programming) techniques, that you will find easy and natural to implement, which will make a positive difference.

You will find that you have a better understanding of yourself  as you learn to build self-trust and certainty in your abilities to be a better communicator and  start to enjoy more fulfilling relationships.

What is the next step?

In closing…. Good relationships are essential for good mental health; so it begs the question,  isn’t it worth doing something about it?
